How does working in public spaces influence art practice and strategies of today? Can artistic strategies be used as a tool for realizing innovative thinking and changes? Is a different form of sociality emerging?

Part 3 CREATING DEBATE AND REACTION

Contemporary art interferes with the public debate using strategies such as interventions and activism, by addressing indirect or direct political issues, or simply by creating images or counter images that reflect contemporary culture. Reactions and debate evolving around public art projects become both extensions and continuations of the work in a direct exchange of emotions, values and beliefs. How do artists engage in this interaction and extension? Can debate orientated art create a more complex reflection in public spaces and debates?
